Want to keep high res files on a usb hard disk for ns01

Hi,

I would like to buy some more high res downloads. I have a share on my computer that works, but space on that machine is running out, and it may not be switched on when I want to play the music. I have not yet bought a NAS, and I plan to wait until sometime next year before I  buy one. I have a 500 gb usb disk, that would be a good solution connected directly to the usb port on the ns01. The problem is that it does not work. How do I need to store the albums on the disk if this can  work at all?

Keep your Artist folders at the root of the USB drive, with album folders enclosed inside. Each album should possess a folder.jpg along with the audio files inside the Album folder.

Using a ''permanent'' USB drive may be problematic: some drives need more current than others and Naim servers may have problem to supply them. Generally hi speed HD (7200 RPM) don't work. For example: Seagate FreeAgent Go disks work, but Pro versions don't: they become erratic after half an hour.

Using Hard Drives on these USB ports is on the edge.
