HRT istreamer

does anyone tried one of this? is it good?

Heard it once very briefly and it sounded fine, but not in the way that made me think it was any better than other similarly priced DACs I've heard. The best sub £1k DACs I have heard were from Chord Electronics.

Gem is the smaller and Pearl the larger (part of Chordette range) 

 

Both have APT-X Bluetooth and USB interfaces 

The Pearl has electrical and optical interfaces too. 

 

I used a Gem for over 6 months until I bought a Naim DAC and I still think it is a pretty amazing device - the Bluetooth was especially good with an iPod - best sound I've heard from one.

No idea about the iStreamer, but I use the Streamer II+ in my second system and it's great.

 

I prefer my Qute's DAC, but the HRT beats all of my previously owned - V-Dac, Benchmark, Lavry DA10.
