Naimnet speakers?

Posted by: Billy Rubin on 16 October 2011

Three in/on-wall speakers were launched summer 2010.

Anyone have information such as pricing?

Also, does anyone have experience with a naimnet installation at home?

A major home renovation looms and with it an opportunity to use my HDX-SD as the heart of a Naimnet multiroom streaming system...

I run a naimnet system in my home with three zones and although when i want some serious listening i generally use the local system in my lounge through my NSo1 252 S/C 300 and ovator 400 I have been really pleased ith the zonal music for partys, bedroom and showeroom ect.

Thanks for the reply, Martyn.

Which wall / ceiling speakers are you using?

(As as aside, I had an interesting conversation with a Naimnet dealer today.

He told me that he thinks that the Naimnet speaker project was canceled more or less before they even shipped (possibly due to the merger with Focal).

He also confirmed that perhaps the most crucial difference between Naimnet and a multi room installation based on, say a central HDX and several networked Qutes, is the lack of synchronous streaming.

He also told me that he wouldn't be surprised to see that particular issue addressed via a software update in the future. You can imagine what that might do to residual Naimnet sales.

Finally, he suggested that a unifying app to replace n-Serve and n-Stream may well be in the works.)

Billy

I have a pair of proac response sattelites in the bedroom, a ceiling speaker in the showeroom and outside in my garden room i have an old pair of kefs, my main living area is covered by the ovators as it is one open plan room. I love the synchronised music when having a party ect and can also play different music in different zones when the good lady wants something different to me.The new naim products were not out when my system was installed so there was not the choice between different products and the naimnet system can do so much more than music if required, the app is expensive but is amazing giving total control over every zone either independentally or in synch. hope this helps
