Playlist size limits

It appears that playlists created with Naim desktop client are limited to 500 tracks? Is this documented anywhere?
The following is using a UnitiServe SSD with all music on external NAS.
I like to create large playlist combining a few favourite tracks from hundreds of albums. It is possible to make a larger playlist by dragging/dropping all the tracks from separate playlist into a single new large list (I've created one containing 2500 tracks from 5 separate 500 track lists).
When played on shuffle using n-Serve this playlist randomly picks 500 tracks from the full 2500 which is pretty successful workaround but a bit quirky.
When played using web interface on shuffle it just shuffles the first 500 tracks from the larger playlist so a less satisfactory result.
Does anyone know what's going on here or why playlists are limited to 500 tracks?
