Kind of looks like a Victorian folly of some sort, based on what they thought a medieval church should look like!

Hmm. I see your point. I've looked through Google photos for Scottish chapels, apart from Rosslyn Chapel they all look pretty austere.

It is part of a lantern slide collection I have, I'm sure they are all photos of Scotland or maybe Ireland.
