Ta, I will set the recorder as soon as I get home.

I've been rather enjoying the MFSL version of bookends recently which sounds v good indeed!

There is another programme on BBC4 at 00.05 "Songs of America 1969"
Simon & Garfunkel; plus world events from the period.
I thoroughly enjoyed the S&G documentary. And so much nicer on the Beeb without inane advertising destroying the flow of an absorbing programme.
John.
During the last week or so I have been playing through all of my S&G vinyl albums, always an emotional experience bringing back many. many memories, some good, some sad, all wonderful. Last night's documentary on BOTW was a rather fine bookend to this.

I can only listen to BOTW on my late Father's orignal pressing from 1970 as anything else would be wrong.
Great documentary as well.

I thought it would have been nice to see them together, sharing the memories and insights with each other.
Are they talking at the moment?
Interesting programme, as Jono says it sounded very respectful, but no shots of them together.
Shame.
It's still a fabulous album though.

Judging by the fact that the most recent footage was of them in Central Park I would guess talking but in separate rooms.
I had a look at album and it was good to be able to put faces and characters to the names.

I was struck by what a fabulous voice Art G had. Shame he came over as a bit arrogant.... Paul Simon by this time (1969) seemed to be itching to move on...
Hello all, what struck me was the incredible effort and talent invested by both by the artists and engineer in order to craft this wonderful piece of art. The stories of recording certain segments in specific locations to get the perfect acoustic or effect were fascinating.

Paul Simon is like that on all his records: not only must the word mean the right thing it has to sound right, He'll have a meaning and change the word over and over it the sound does go well with the music. I think this why his records both with and without Art his albums are so very good.
Yes, this was a great programme - watched it on iplayer last night. I thought Paul Simon was the more interesting man - more reflective; open, and honest. Triggered me to put on BoTW this morning and it's a great LP.
