Youtube via Macbook to Unitiqute: best way?

Posted by: gogetgil on 09 November 2011

Dear Naim users,

Note that I am enthusiastic about the Unitiqute in combination with my music library in .wav. I am now trying to find a way to get some songs from youtube via my macbook to my Unitiqute. Do you have any suggestions what the best way is to do so? Appreciate all thoughts.  Regards, giliam

Just click on the what ever you want to listen to.

It should come out of your speakers.

El cheapo toslink cable will do.

If you want wireless then I recommend Airport Express (+ Airfoil software for non Airplay compliant apps).

Dear members,

Perhaps the information provided was too little. I am looking for a wireless solution. The Unitiqute does not immediately recognize my Mac. But when I switch on the program "PS3 remote media server" on my laptop the Unitiqute finds my Mac as an UPnP device.

However, I cannot play any youtube streaming audio, just files that are on my Mac. With respect to files Gale's solution works. But not for youtube. Or am I missing something?

I guess that connecting an Airport Extreme to my Unitiqute should indeed work. But is there a solution without buying the Airport Extreme?

Once again, I appreciate the replies. Best, Giliam
