Top 100
Posted by: floid on 19 November 2011
I think everybody has a list of 100 albums that you consider you're favourite's so here's a thread devoted to just that. Every album I put on here will be an album that I could not live without. They will be in no particular order but so we can follow it every album will have a number beside it. Comments would be good, maybe they are yours as well. Let's see how it goes.

Never heard anything by them. Will put that right soon, I see their name in Prog magazines but know nothing about them i'm afraid to say.

Great choices - for me AC's Love It To Death is always my first choice, it reminds me of when I was 18,

Thanks for following always good to see your comments. Love it to death is also a good Alice Cooper album but Welcome To My Nightmare has good memories for me so it had to be that one. Albums from 69 to 60 are now programmed into the Unitiserve so feet up and thats my night sorted.
As a side note if you like The Who - Quadrophenia the new remastered cd that came out this week is really very good. Why can't all remastered cd's be like it.

Lol.......I think it would be very hard to put any record on here that either you have not got or heard. I don't know you but looking at the comments you have made over time in this forum you are like me very passionate about music. You never know there might be some albums coming up you know nothing about. Good to have your comments.

I saw the show in Sydney, Australia. Yep, great show.
Floid,
Is this on your list?
If it is?
You should have a listen to this album by his son.
Stu.
I don't suppose there is a DVD to accompany Baxter's "pressing"!!
Sure is Stu
59 Ian Dury - New Boots And Panties.

You can really feel the raw emotion on this record this was Lennon at his angry, emotional best. I think he had a few things to get of his chest.

Top 5 album for me, predated Tommy in the Rock Opera stakes and infinitely superior in my humble opinion. Although Parachute was nice, the Pretty Things never got close to this elevated level again. It is over 4o years old and yet sounds as fresh as daisy on a barren (sic) Saturday. One would have to be the loneliest person the world not to love this album. The definitive 60s record in my view.
Worth adding the gold CD reissue to the vinyl copy so you get Defecting Grey or go for Pretties A/Bs on vinyl to get the surrounding non-album singles. The singles are as good as anything on the album so worth it.
All the best, Guy

Oh yes, "Forever Changes" - lovely album
Like the Marriane Faithful, have that on vinyl and on the old digital juke box
Interesting JL choice, his solo outings never quite matched the majesty of what came before for me, but of course, there are always great moments and we have to have them all even SINYC. I guess it had to be Plastic Ono or Imagine for his best. Shame no Instant Karma on the album.
Don't know anything about Heart and only have a compilation by Ian Dury, which I think has quite a few tracks on it from New Boots - not sure, not on my most played list for some reason. If you said do I like Ian then I'd say - certainly, but hardly ever play him: isn't life strange.

New Boots And panties is always played here but I must say it's the only one of his that is. His other albums had good moments but hardly ever played.
The John Lennon is the only one I like as an album after the Beatles split. I do like shaved fish a greatest hits of his but not including greatest hits or best of's in this list.
