Top 100
Posted by: floid on 19 November 2011
I think everybody has a list of 100 albums that you consider you're favourite's so here's a thread devoted to just that. Every album I put on here will be an album that I could not live without. They will be in no particular order but so we can follow it every album will have a number beside it. Comments would be good, maybe they are yours as well. Let's see how it goes.

You were getting in to unfamiliar territory for me (not that that matters, of course), but pulled it back with some Maiden and Rainbow ... difficult to choose my favourite Ritchie Blackmore album so many that are so good - really love Blackmore's Night
By the way, although I doubt a Genesis record would make my top 100, if it did it would have to be Trespass, which I think is their standout record especially for The Knife.

You are right with Ritchie Blackmore so many to choose but with Machine Head and Rainbow Rising I consider these his best.
With Genesis Trespass right through to Wind And Wuthering a difficult choice but Selling England By The Pound does it for me.

A great top 100 so far.

11 If you know the story of this group it's a miracle this ever got made and for it to be this good is a miracle in its self.
Rick Allen did well to come back to play the drums with one arm.
They are playing in Sheffield tomorrow night and London on the 14th.
10 Budgie - Never Turn Your Back On a Friend

Glad you like the posts good to have your comments. I will get to see Def Leppard one day I hope. I think it was amazing that they waited for Rick Allen to get better and see if he could still play the drums with one arm. Bloody amazing.

Thanks for a very interesting Top 100 - lots of really good records. I could have a go myself, but I keep changing my mind about which records to include - so many good songs and so little time.
All the best, Guy
Thanks for sharing your top 100 Floid.
Have 50% will enjoy exploring the other 50%
Some class albums man.
Floid I appreciate your appreciation of Eva Cassidy. She was the cousin of a co-worker of mine, and I got to see her perform live in Washington DC back in the 1990's. I feel very fortunate for that.
Thank you for the kind comments I have enjoyed doing this, as I was listening to these albums I was thinking of all the other albums that were not in this list, I think you could go on forever. It has been nice to see comments as I went along and I just know there were people looking at this from time to time following it all the way through. Maybe there are some albums that people do not know and are now interested in trying them out and adding to your collection.
I think that was why I started this in the first place after all music is what this is all about. I know that I have been put on to a lot of music by people on this forum and for that I am very grateful and long may it last.
Anyway I'm off to the what are you listening too thread to get some more ideas.
