We had a look in one of the local showrooms and Bosch was suggested - they do one model in black! I see the other manufacturers do offer a slightly bigger choice - Hotpoint, Siemens etc. etc.

Agree Miele is a bit more price wise but just like hi-fi you (most the time) get what you pay for so it's not down to price, hence the need to know what would be the next best make.
Black, now there's a novel idea, might make a good colour for hifi boxes.
I agree 100% about Miele reliability. My DoDE swears by hers. Trouble free, simple to use, economical & so quiet that it cannot be heard with the utility room door closed.
In 5 years we had a very small problem that was fixed with a phone call in minutes by Miele; too much powder stuff (too technical for me) but the call, result & followup call later that week has left a 1st class impression.
But as you want a dishwasher in matching black, that's a different story & Bosch seems to be the only choice.
But I do not see that as a problem, I rebuilt my kitchen a couple of years ago & selected a Bosch (integrated solves all colour problems)
The Bosch decision was based on advise from my kitchen installer buddy & Which? who with other www forums rate Bosch dishwashers & Miele clothes washers almost the same.
