You really ought to get out more...........seems like you are talking to yourself!!!! So let me help you.

I have just noticed that the post in the Hifi room about the Bear's Lair has the text panned out across the full width of my computer screen (appart from a rather narrow version of the usual generic listings on the right hand side)

I find it much more pleasant to read.

I am wondering if this is some sort of abberation or some sort of option.

It's OK Don, some of my best conversations are with myself. I try not to lose an argument with myself.

I guess my "problem" was a glitch for a day I had no main menu "new" threads/posts. I had restarted after installing the gigaswitch, " which I think was the only thing I did ".

Miraculously next day back to what passes for normal around here.

I see the White Bear Lair as all other threads, it sounds like your view is just what we wanted from day one but all that other dross fixes the column width far too narrow IMO.

I can't help feel that Add reply can be inserted at the top what the other choices are for I can't imagine recent topics has it's own page Tags??? Archive should be else where It's own page. Online know is a waste of space as you can't do anything with it now searching for post by XXXX has been removed.  

I'm sorry did anyone think the forum had been fixed????????

Hmmmm

I've just had a quick look at the Bear's Lair and its still spread out across the page. Its nicely centred and accupies about 80% of the page width, with the usual column of avatars and names down the left hand side and a similar column down the right hand side with the usual "recent topics" etc.

But its the only thread that appears like this, so either its an abberation or TonyM has figured out a way to create it.

Hmmmm - again

I looked at the Bear's Lair post again, but this time at work. Text is restricted to the LHS of the page as per "normal" and as per all other posts.

Will look again when I get home. It seems that it is only that one particular thread and only on my wife's particular laptop that I get the text spread across the full width of the page.

Ah well.........I doubt whether Hoopless even bother to talk to Naim these days nevermind give any passing thought to the users of the Forum. But then, perhaps i'm just a sceptic.

Well

On my (wife's) thinkpad, the Bear's Lair is still full width.

But its the only thread that I can see in this format and i'm blowed if I can see any computer logic as to why this is the case...............
