UnitiQute Remote Alpha Keys not working
Posted by: pj5 on 30 November 2011
Hi,
The alphanumeric keys do not work on the remote. According to the manual i should be able to jump down a list using these keys, but pressing them nothing happens. Everything else seems ok. Any ideas? Thanks
This seems to be dependant on the UPNP Server, not just the Qute.
Can you try an alternative?
Have not tried using upnp, doesn't work on Radio or Ipod - reference manual says it should work on both quote: "In long lists the handset numeric/text keys can be used to jump through
the list alphabetically."
I have only used this feature with UPNP I'm afraid - the iRadio stays on Radio Paradise 100% of the time so no need to browse elsewhere
I have been told it is a misprint in the manual and that the alphanumeric keys do not work! This is a real show stopper for me - It's just not feasible to scroll through 1000+ albums. Hopefully there will be an update to do this soon, otherwise i'm going to have to look for a different solution.
The keys certainly work on our Qute when in list mode. May depend on how you are sending info to the Qute, but for us via UPnP works every time. The manual is correct.

Hmm, havn't tried UPnP yet - but got email from naim support saying it didn't in what i was trying - Radio & Ipod. Will setup & try UPnP at the weekend. But that still doesn't help me much. D
on't know what you mean by sending info into the Qute, i'm using trhe standard remote.
Maybe that won't help you, but a work around might be the N-stream application. I use it with Asset UPnP
I love it! Not fully fast as I would have dreamed, but still very reasonable.
If I have to stop using Iphone for any reason, I would certainly go buy an Ipod just to use N-stream.
It would style be a good investment from my point of view.
(it does provide many filtering type e.i. Artist, Album, search function too)
Just tried UPnP and it DOES work in this mode! But still not with radio & ipod. So it does work in some modes but not in others.
I did try the N-stream app but it is slow and i'd have to buy either an iphone or itouch, and this is another sore point - why isn't there an Android or Windows version?
thanks for the suggestions & info though, at least i now know it 1/2 works, not good for me though
