Wind turbine overload !

Couldn't help posting this picture from the BBC website of a wind turbine in Scotland. I guess that this is what happens when the blades are not feathered during a storm.

I sent the same photo to our Energy Efficiency Manager. I'm asking him to investigate wind turbines as a post-closure land-use option for our mines. I thought he'd get a kick out of it!

Lets say that on the occasions these go wrong they do a lot less damage than Three Mile Island, Fukushima, etc.

Not that we can't have a safer Nuclear industry from what I understand speaking to people in India where they are using Thorium - just that we have a nuclear weapons industry to support.

They're looking at building a farm near to one of our sites. One of the issues in that patch is that it's a major black bear habitation !!
