JRiver Audio Out Setup & Windows Media Player 12 Setup

Posted by: HuwJ on 10 December 2011

Hi,

I have my NDX up and running and all is fine with radio and USB sticks.

It's less fine with UPnP.

I set up WMP12 last evening and it all seemd OK to start with - apart from FLACs not having art work tagged correctly. This morning I downloaded WMPtagplus and tagged everything up. It all displays nicely in WMP now. But, and it's a big but, nothing plays and artwork is at best spurious. If I choose a track to play it seems to go in to an never ending 'connecting' loop on NDX.

So I downloaded JRiver and that not only shows all the artwork but also plays all the music! However my iPad says I'm getting an MP3 at 320 not the FLAC. I've looked all over the place (except where I need to) for an audio out downsampler, but can not find anything to switch off downsampling or conversion. Everything I can find seems to be related to sound cards - like Direct Sound etc - which I assume does not impact the network output. Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

I have right clicked NDX-92FD, gone to playback options and tried to adjust Audio Output, but that makes no difference.

Thanks in anticipation

Huw

Go into Server settings and make sure you are not transcoding.

Hi, yes it was converting to MP3 and down sampling - no idea why it chooses to do that as a default.
