NARCOM AV Remote not working the AV2.

Posted by: tonym on 12 December 2011

For some reason my AV remote controller has decided to stop controlling my AV2.  The other side of things, i.e. the CD, Pre etc. works fine & the Philips "Pronto" remote I mostly use for volume, processing and source selection also works OK, so I'm pointing the finger firmly at the AV2's remote.

Is there some way of resetting it? Perhaps the remote keyset has been inadvertently changed? (I suspect outside fiddling...)

The AV2 may have had the set of remote codes it responds to changed from the standard. I think there is something about changing them using the AV2 buttons in the Manual

Thanks Trevor. I've had a look through the manual but other than resetting the AV2 to factory defaults there's no mention of resetting remote codes. Besides, the remote codes programmed into my Pronto still function OK, so I guess the Narcom's gone up the Swannie.

Assuming your remote is the black one with a red circular standby button, this should do the trick: https://forums.naimaudio.com/di...ent/1566878606539265 It doesn't specifically refer to the AV2, but the AV portion (step e onwards) of the n-Vi's procdure on this page uses the same codeset, so this will work. If you have the older remote with rectangular buttons then I guess it's time to call Steve at naim.

Good luck

Tony, resetting the remote should cure the problem. Looks like Mike has given you the FAQ link.

Ha! Many thanks chaps, that's done the trick! Flushed with my success I think I'll go and reset the wife.
