SuperUniti and UPNP

Posted by: Benoit on 12 December 2011

'got the Superuniti this week-end : great sound and convenience... however a few glitches

- It takes a while (5+ minutes) to discover the NAS while other streaming devices are recognized immediately (router, PC). NAS is Netgear ReadyNas 6 (12TB), wired ethernet and not a 'standby-sleep' issue

- some directories are missing and some music files are also missing. The first music file always appears twice though

All this would indicate an issue with the NAS, however other streaming devices have no problem with it.

I am puzzled, have other similar experiences ?

Hi Benoit,

I'm afraid, I can't help, but just wanted to post, that I have same issues with ReadyNas Duo.

Playing with UServe and NDX.

Another problem I have is to get Kinsky running (n-stream is missing playlists or at least a queue with the next songs I want to hear). Kinsky always stops after playing one track. Anyone got a solution?

Hi Benoit, I'm not all that technical but I did have similar problems to you re. the missing folders.  I used a Western Digital 1GB MyBookWorld NAS without issue for my sonos system but when I hooked it up to my new Superuniti, it failed to see the majority of my music folders.  I managed to fix this problem by logging in as admin to the NAS and upgrading the software.  Luckily for me there was a menu option to do this as I wouldn't have had a clue otherwise.  I hope this helps you.
