Barton Hollow, first great album of 2012?

The Civil Wars: 'Barton Hollow' appears to not have a UK release date yet but is available on iTunes. I think they did a turn on 'Later' too.

Getting lots of good reviews in the 'States and I can see why. Him and her country folk songs with a lovely contemporary yet backwoods feel (if such a thing is possible). Good songs and playing and a warm intimate feel with a whiff of the Isobel Campbell/Mark Lanegan about it.

A nice start to 2012, just a wee a bit early!

I heard them on Later and was very impressed.

The CD and vintyl are available on Amazon, but it might be an import based on the price.

Bruce.....I got my copy from Amazon a good couple of weeks ago? Very nice, has to be 2011 though.

Bought mine on LP back in Sept having heard them on the Whispering Bob show - its great.
