laptop into naim dac

Hi Mates,

I have just bought a DAC and have a lot of CDs ripped or downloaded.

Also have a few high resolution FLAC files (24/96 or even 24/192).

They are stored on my PC laptop.

I would like these files to be played back on my main stereo (naim) system

feeding by my laptop.

I know I have to buy some interface gadget to put between my laptop and DAC.

What interface units give the best sound in your opinion which are also cost effective ?

Any suggestions welcome.

Hi, the easiest solution would be an USB to SPDIF adapter, plenty of options, Audiophilleo and JKenny Hiface are very well regarded among the medium priced alternatives.

It may be worth checking whether you have an optical (toslink) output on your laptop. My Hp has a mini toslink hidden in the headphone output socket (similar to A***e laptops). If not, Goldfinch is spot on. You can get a cheap one from Maplins for £15 or so just to get you going.
