What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread. I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.
Anyway, links:

Sung in English, this is a spectacular recording that
very much captures the heavenly echoes and acoustics
of King's College Chapel, Cambridge.
My very first and by far her best disc of Bach's keyboard music.
Haim,
As I haven't heard Hewitt's first recording of the WTC I can't judge for myself, but I do think Hewitt did a remarkable job recording all of Bach's solo works and some of his other music for keyboard on the side (her recording of the gamba sonatas with Muller-Schott on cello - to which I am listening now - is very good). She changed my mind about performing Bach on the piano, especially through her performances of works that I used to not like on the piano, like the French suites.
Cheers,
EJ
Just arrived in the mail - newcomer Joseph Moog plays Rach 3 and Rubinstein 4. A bit of a gamble, let's hope the performance is as good as the cover!
Cheers,

...because I bought this LP yesterday from Oxfam and haven't heard some of the tracks in many years.........

kk, I don't know if you saw our posts, but me and reubs were on about that cat in this thread only a week or so back.
If they like his album, I expect your ears will enjoy this half hour FlyLo mix of Thundercat from the Brainfeeder site: Shenanigans pt.1 that I downloaded (I think you still can?) around when his album dropped. I still havent heard ...Apocalypse though.
cheers Chief. I did see your posts and i heard a track of his on the jamie Cullum bbc2 radio show. It grabbed my attention! The album is very cool. What you waiting for?
Tried the download but i couldn't get it to work. But then again i never do!

A fine recording indeed....
Otto Klemperer:
Symphony No. 2: Radio-Shmphonie-Orchester Berlin
Symphony No. 6: RIAS-Symphonie-Orchester
Beautiful day in Aberdeen so some beautiful music (on vinyl) to go with it:

EJ,
On top of everything you said, I think that Hewitt does a commendable job of playing the French music of Rameau, Chabrier and Couperin as well as Mozart's early piano concerto. Only her Beethoven sonatas kind of leave me in the cold.

Haim
Really enjoying Peter Hammil's live box set, disc 5 right now.
Rudolf Buchbinder:
The early, first ten piano sonatas.
The charm of simplicity. Spanish pianist Albert Guinovart excelling with the playing of his countryman's semi-obscure piano sonatas.
Highly recommended and reasonable priced disc:
Playing a few tunes that we used listen to together.
In remembrance of my good friend Mark who lived next door and died yesterday morning aged 43.
Bristol Show:
listened to a track of this played in a demo using the tiny (and on their sides) speakers by Neat + Naim (if i remember correctly), and while listening made a mental note to myself to play this album on my return home.
One thing really good about going to shows... after listening to all kinds of systems good or bad, hastily set up with hotel room challenging acoustics it’s very reassuring to find how well your own system sounds when you get back home.
I’m enjoying this but off back outside again after,
...wonderful day going on out there

On CD - an old favourite
