What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread. I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.
Anyway, links:

2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4Hy6kp5kIs - Absolutely AMAZING voice
3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr7jNfZk3t8&feature=related - Great band, featuring Gary Neville on Bass . I can hear elements of Lewis Taylor & definitely Stevie Wonder in his voice. Son of Preacher Boy indeed.

Don't often listen to soundtracks - but this one is a cracker!
If you like Classical meets Electronic in an excellent recording, it is for you.
Blows away any cobwebs!

This complete set (1992 to 1995) was finished when Perl was just 30 years old.
listening to another great singer today.
Playing a few tunes that we used listen to together.
In remembrance of my good friend Mark who lived next door and died yesterday morning aged 43.
Another one for Mark.
And another one for Mark.
Many happy hours listening to this loud at home and in his classic Red Stingray with the top off.
His was better looking than this picture.
All cream carpet and seats and bigger better wheels.
Stu, sorry to hear about your friend. Maybe this video clip is in order (inspired by your Gary Moore choice).
Osprey,
Thanks for that.
Great track off a great album.
We had a Osprey land and live on a tree over the road from me on the Royal Military Canal a few years ago for just over a week..
We don't see them in this part of the world Kent.
Playing this now.
If you have never heard this guy or album?
Give him a listen,He is brilliant.
Stu.
Recorded in Berlin & foot tappppppingly good. An exceptional 'live' band who reformed last year & have. or are playing in Australia at the moment. There's nothing better than the brits outperforming the aussies on their home turf is there .
Lapalux, When You're Gone EP. Stunning. Sounds so luxurious if you can understand.
Images not working on iPad, sorry.
A classic from Rawkus' heyday. This, Black on Both Sides, the Pharoah Monch LP where when they were untouchable. They even signed Kool G Rap for a few releases.
Think they were ultimately funded by James Murdoch in some way or other.
Going to get this on the headphones tomorrow.
Just arrived in the mail - newcomer Joseph Moog plays Rach 3 and Rubinstein 4. A bit of a gamble, let's hope the performance is as good as the cover!
Cheers,
EJ
Quick update: it. Moog emerges as a pianist with plenty of new things to say, even in these warhorses. Slight pity is that the recording is not optimal, with the orchestra too far in the background - both these works allow the pianist to cut through and float above the orchestra, and this effect is lessened when the balance isn't ideal.
