The highly energetic dance orchestration leaves the record surface noise in it's wake!
Really not bad for a 50p charity shop record...
makes up for some of the crap i've purchased there lately ; )

KEXP 90.3 have published a new batch of videos shot during their stay at Iceland Airwaves Music Festival in October last year almost daily for the last week. Here we have three videos of the up and coming band Kiriyama Family – a quintet that comes straight from the South Coast of Iceland and features ex-members of Benny Crespo’s Gang and NilFisk.
Kiriyama Family released two singles last year and they’re amongst the nominees for the best music videos at the Northern Wave Film Festival, their debut full length will see the daylight later this year. These videos were recorded at the Kex Hostel who hosted KEXP’s Live Broadcast from Reykjavík.

Two hours of mostly oldish stuff you'd love (check the tracklisting) and easy enough (!) to download from Brainfeeder.

Just to let you know, I downloaded LiveLoveA$AP for some more Clams, but haven't heard much yet. Yeah, an Evy Jane album would be good, and I'm tempted to get the vinyl of the ep - I like the cover and it might be worth a few pounds soon - just looked it up though and my favourite remix (the glitchy Julien Mier one) isn't on it.

Not the usual Brainfeeder kind of thing, but some great tracks all the same.

With vocals taken from an old interview, here's Edie on 'Distortions'.

Unwinding with Feldman's meditative pace.

A cool, reserved Lisztian, Lugansky is. Minor inflections, limited use of tre corde and incredible control in the name of the game here. No bombastics, period.
Since I can't get any swirling snow storms outside I was hoping for a recreation of Chasse-neige inside to get me going. Chasse-neige being the crowning glory of the dozen études d'exécution transcendante and an étude that had a great effect on me in my younger days. Maybe I am used to a Bolet or Arrau here with grand gesture and heart tugging & blurred meaning or spell binding imagination or romanticism. I'll warm up to his cool approach I suppose after a few more listens.
The rest of the recital is all excellent and broadens out somewhat in dynamic range etc.
