What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

Posted by: Richard Dane on 29 December 2011

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

One of my favourite Heep albums. Memories of gigs at the Hammersmith Odeon!

Hille Perl & Lee Santana-husband and wife playing Marin Marais on DHM's 'Pour la Viole et le Theorbe'.

Beethoven's 6th: Eugen Jochum/Berliner Philharmoniker.

It's a cool original pressing but not digging much. Not getting his POV.

Another solid but not brilliant blues album from the Detroit bluesman.

For fans of Walter Trout etc. This album for me is not as good as the last (Blues in My Soul) which if you like blues rock then you owe it to yourself to listen to.

His Blues in My Soul was in my top ten discs of 2010 and it is obvious one of his main influence is  Robin Trower. Listen to trax City Underwater, Country Fever, Medicine Man and the Trower comp In This Place.

This boy can sure play a mean guitar and great tone on the Strat.

By the way this is his 8th disc.

This album is simply astonishing

Because it's interesting to hear it sung, rather than just as incidental music
