What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Anyway, links:

I think this just pre-dates the more famous title. Badfinger at their most creative before tragedies struck.

These days, I can't stop listening to Hadouk Trio - Utopies.

Adrian,

Lisa Smirnova really shines with these Handel keyboard suites. I like her playing much better than Keith Jarrett's. Go for it.

On LP - from 1973 with Charlie Mariano on top form, just out of playing with Eberhard Weber, and a short stint with these German fusion guys (bit like Weather Report) - great stuff.

Martin Stephenson and the Daintees, Boat to Bolivia. Loved them in the '80s and going to see them play the album live at the Sage next month.

A magical trip of a jazz trio lead by a meaty Bosendorfer.

Crippled Black Phoenix.

(Mankind) The Crafty Ape.

If you like your prog  then this deserves a listen.

I love their writing, but usually the recoding / mastering lets them down rather a lot.

Not this time. Really enjoying this.

Shades of PF & PT with their own inimitable style.

I think it is also being made available on black grooved stuff for those who need it that way :-)

Thanks!

It is nice to notice that this great band is still remembered. Perhaps another clip is also in order.

Same song but different venue.
