What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread. I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.
First play and made a good impression, this could be a grower. Declan's song "Sarah" (from his CD "Since Kyabram"), was on the Mojo magazine CD, compiled by Paul Weller, which made be buy both CD's.

I treasure this (and volume I) --- these recordings made me appreciate
Handel's keyboard music as never before.

This should get the day going.
Only an 80's reissue vinyl. But the music is good.

Liking this very much, even if I didn't think that I needed another Beethoven violin concerto

Am giving this another spin, has created a lovely mood to accompany a lovely spring day. Shame that it coincides with spring cleaning

One of the best 'live' CD/DVD release combo's I am happy to own. Melancholic music can be so uplifting.

A beautiful box set, I will have to revisit it today.

Disc 26: Shostakovich E Minor Piano Trio (1988) with Ax, Stern, Ma and the D Minor Cello Sonata (1987) with Ax & Ma.
MilesSmiles - here is another nice set. I did not have very much Rubinstein or Ma so these two made sense for me.
