What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Anyway, links:

Playing this classic album now.

It so reminds me of the classic 60s film.

I would rather not.

Getting a head start in preparation for Easter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Why?

Because its still my all time fav NY album.

I keep rocking in the free world.

I should never have put the hose down.

There is a ban on them here.

I am crying in the city but its good to be free.

Bach Cantatas: BWV 89, 90 & 161

Such happy tunes as 'A Fearful End Awaits You' and 'Come, Sweet Death'.

These lyrics are pretty morbid but they are comforting tunes. ( I guess they were meant to be )

THis Telefunken record sounds great. Sweet *holy* aura around the voices and instruments sound natural.

kuma,

Sorry its a bit off thread,

Telefunken  used to make great 26" TVs when Sony only made a 18".

They had sliding double doors on the front.

Massive things.

It used to be great fun doing home instals with them.

One used to open the doors and the screen and tube used to fall out onto the floor.

Sorry, the name just brought flash back  memories .

On the black stuff.I can remember buying this album like it was yesterday.

The Virgin record shop near the clock tower in Brighton.

Listened to it 2 or 3 times through headphones on a bean bag.

Then asked for another copy?

I didn't want the one i had just heard as it had been touched and played.

Cantata BWV 82 "Ich Habe Genug" and BWV 199 "Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut". Bach and his contemporaries were fascinated by (dealing with) death, and many of his cantatas broach the subject.

Cheers,
