What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Original Vinyl

The original CD (PIP CD 015), not the later remaster, which has poor dynamic range by comparison.

Quirky Toyah at her best IMO - excellent screams on end of Ieya

Favoraite is track 5 - title track Blue Meaning.

Been wanting to pick this up for a while.  Finally did today.  First listen.

Great  live.  Last saw  them  at Brixton Academy back  94', I think.  Very Cathartic!!!

Brilliant! What's your decision? I remember seeing TR at Knebworth in 1979 supporting Led Zeppelin

We saw Todd Rundgren Utopia too, don't remember much about them though.

Now on CD:-

I love all things Todd.

I would try it only if it has any extra tracks on it that are not on the original?

And again if it was remastered by Todd?

My  seven year old starts lessons on a lovely blue one of these next Tuesday with his mother,

because of Todd.

More new stuff.  Found while browsing.  Don't judge me, but I am not familiar with John Mayall.     First listen.

Yes, me too. That was my first experience of Todd Rundgren. I think it was hearing the harmonies on 'The Meaning of the Verb To Love' that made me rush out and buy this album the folowing week.

That is a classic. But see if you can get to hear 'A Hard Road' too. Check out Peter Green's version of 'The Stumble' from that album and 'Greeny' from 'Thru the Years'.

My daughter got me into him last year or the year before with a USB stick.

Good music.

Thanks Stu.

I am enjoying it.  Will be seeking out the recommendations from Clive as well.  One of the things I like about browsing the record shop; just stumbling upon stuff.

Pat

Pat,

If you get a chance to see JM live?

Grab it and go.

He is getting on in years but still puts a great band together.

I saw him play in Folkestone at the Lees Cliff a few years ago on his 40th Anna tour.

Brilliant.

Rick W and John Anderson the next night at the same place.

Wonderful.

Stu.
