What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Denis,

Thanks for that.

I would of missed it because they have been playing so much good stuff on BBC 6 music tonight.

Going over now.

I did not know he had worked with Peter Gabriel and a list on greats?

If i did its been lost in my brain??

Stu,

I'm sure you remember Paul singing on two songs from 'OVO'. I didn't know about his work with Michael McDonald, have to look into that.

Denis,

Its old age.

You could tell Paul does not like doing the PR stuff.

Jools  does not ask the right questions anyway, and made very hard work of it imo.

It was nice to hear a few bits of tracks and Paul thoughts though.

Are you going to see him live?

Thanks for posting, I've just pre-orderd it. I also recently bought 'KC Rules OK' and a while back 'Bombshell'. Really loving his songs and collaboration with Jon Hopkins. Saw them in Norwich a few weeks ago and was transfixed with the live performance.

Vol. 38 of Suzuki's Bach cantata cycle with four of the solo cantatas, including BWV 82 "Ich have genug" (wonderfully sung by Peter Kooij).

Cheers,
