What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

Posted by: Richard Dane on 29 December 2011

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Played this in ALAC, FLAC, WAV and AIFF and I can't hear any difference - perhaps that is just the kind of Guy I am.

Jamie, I am playing this album again after a while not. Absence makes the heart grow fonder on this. It sounds stunning today, even better than when I last played it.

I think the SW solo catalogue is now better than his Porcupine Tree output, more challenging, powerful and rewarding. Going to see him again on the 15th. Also looking forward to his new album, Storm Corrosion due out very soon.

Hi Oliver,

Gill is the multi-instrumentalist in Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo. Tarry Awhile is her solo debut, a very talented musician. I recommend Almanac, wholeheartedly...
