What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Steven Osborne's new album with Beethoven bagatelles: generally as easy listening as Beethoven gets, but not for a moment superficial. Osborne keeps it simple, and allows these miniatures' natural beauty to shine through.

Cheers,

First heard this album (and of Doc Watson) at my dealer.  Struck a chord.

A rare excursion for me, have liked Wouter Hamel since first hearing him a couple of years ago.

The last Gathering album featuring Anneke van Giersbergen after 13 years on lead vocals.

A new Gathering album will be out later this year, with Silje Wergeland, replacing Anneke.

The track Heroes For Ghosts will appear on the album...
