What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

These three always seemed to work as a trilogy for me. I know a lot of people don't like 'Stormwatch'  but rounds off the other two nicely for me. The death of John Glascock weighs heavily on the album, every song, apart from the instrumental 'Warm Sporran' is an elegy to something, all about time passing and loss. 'Heavy Horses' is probably my favourite of the three though.

Now back to something electronic, and what must be most played album of the last few months.

Arc (Ian Boddy and Mark Shreeve) 'Arcturus'.

EJ,

Another 12 years old, recently discovered, masterpiece on ECM. Alexei Lubimov shines playing Russian piano pieces (Stravinsky's Serenade and piano sonatas by the other three composers).
