What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

CD2 - Interesting but not essential on first play.

H'mm, spoke too soon. The cover of 'Another World' from Anthony and the Johnsons' is really good.

Hello Haim

It is very good and some reviewers in the French HiFi-press classify it as a reference disk.

I only had one listen yet, but I like it very much.

Recording quality is also (one could say "of course") stunning.

I can recommend it without hessitation.

BTW. I also like the Schumann very much. Widmann is doing very nice things for ECM

A great band from 1976/7 who were sadly underrated probably only ever remember for a novelty song called the Lone Ranger, but the albums were much more than a novelty.

'Heavy Horses' is probably my favourite of the three though.

I prefer the first two, but Stormwatch is ok and agree they form a trilogy - great band JT and Heavy Horses is a superb record.

I hope they all get touched with the Steven Wilson magic,

and put out on vinyl??

He does not have to mess with this CD though.
