What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Schumann played with great flair, individuality and gorgeous tone by Maisky and Argerich. In the concerto, Maisky goes even further than in his recording with Bernstein in playing fast and loose with the musical line. I could see how people object to this approach, but I love Maisky's feeling for the drama and sombre colors of this work, Schumann's gloomiest work.

Playing the Bluray version of this, seems to have a lot more depth to the music, taking some time to sink in

Kevin,

You might want to look on the BBC Radio 2 site  iPlayer 6 days left to listen.

Rosanne Cash show, What Happened to Bobby Gentry?

It was good.

A weaker album than the others, but notable for the epic title track;

It was great Stu, and, as per my thread elsewhere, well worth a listen.

I've liked BG since the '60s. A great female vocalist.

Albarn's best effort since The good, the bad and the queen and very good,  it is,  indeed!

Believe the hype.
