What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

A favorite duo with an exquisite give and take between the piano and bass. Highly recommended.

On the luverly black stuff (vinyl's very thin though). I find Baroque music rather conducive to work.

Now onto CD. Should keep the ears occupied for a few hours...

Hi Kevin,

I like this one.  Will give it some more listening time later.  You may also be interested in Stile Antico's "Music for Compline."

Also, I really like the Mosiac Records sets.  I am limited to the CD offerings though.  I have Ahmad Jamal, Louis Armstrong, and Django Reinhardt.  Still getting through them, but the recordings and music are great.

Best regards,

Pat

+1

Nice one, Steve.

Eleanor Rigby never sounded the same again and there are also other very sombre tracks which we will not name here..

I managed to get hold of a german copy after mine disappeared without trace. Spooooooky!
