What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

What do you think of this.

floid,

2 discs, over two hours of music. It's on the heavier side, but IMO it's pretty good.

Buckethead - Elephant Mans Alarm Clock For those that dont know Buckethead, he could be described as Bill Friesel meets Joe Satriani...he was also the guitar player in guns n roses for a few years after Slash.

Laura Marling - A Creature I Don't Know

Posted on: 14 January 2012 by EJS

Bernstein's second Beethoven cycle, with the Wiener Philharmoniker. The live recordings range from good to excellent, no applause. Bernstein's overall approach to these works is romantic, of course, but listening to 1 and 3 now, less so than I had remembered - there is the Bernstein swagger, but also fleetness.

Cheers,

EJ

The Staves are supporting "The Civil Wars" on tour in the states at the moment. Their new album will be on my radar for 2012.

Hi,

No it's on CD.  But I still think it sounds ok.    Can't believe you got banned from the website for returning a bad LP though!
