What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Double Vinyl looks like the best VFM IMO.

Howard,

When you see the cost of postage it wont be

Stu.

What really pisses me off is that you have to give all your details etc before you can find out the "real" cost of an item.

Looks like they ain't getting any of my money then.

With you 100% on this, I will not be paying those kind of postal charges either!!

Just pre-ordered the vinyl from Amazon £18.01!!

Andy,

I sent Howard a email this morning.

I'm listening to Bruce Springsteen at The Apollo Theatre. Very special.

Unfortunately N-Stream tells me I'm listening to James & The Flames.

Which should be a great record. Might look for it.

But it'll probably tell me I'm listening to Bruce Springsteen.

Or who knows?

EJ,

With so much Ravel I would have unRavelled long time ago. The disc above is another ECM masterpiece, very highly recommended.

Hmmm, that good. Might get tempted by this, Been a while since I have bought anything from them and loved their debut all those years ago. Do you know anywhere in web land to listen?

'Fraid not. I'm not up on that sort of thing. I was sent my copy by "a friend in the trade", first as a download and then the CD.

If you liked the first couple of albums by the original line-up, then this one by the re-formed combo hould be right up your strasse.

Cheers

Schubert Impromptus Op.90:

The first time played on a CD555. This CD has a slightly defused perspective than Brendel or Richter vinyl.
