What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Kempff/Beethoven Piano Sonata No.14

I fancy his Moonlight Sonata. Here, he sort of reminds me of Richter. ( oddly he never recorded the No.14 ) Sort of cool & low key and pianissimo is ever so meaningful.

RE: Rush - Clockwork Angels I think the later tracks 3 onward, sound better, of course it might be the blood filtering the sound.

Best listen so far? In the car.

With the windows and sun roof open or top down is best.

Have you heard the "Live in Groenigen" CD, recorded in 1980?

Deffo Jono. A bit short though.

My son got me this 10" black stuff for fathers day a few weeks back.

You can listen and buy the vinyl/CD and WAV from the ninjatune site.

I had forgotten FAC 501 - Tony's last journey.

Also FBN 8 will get a run.

One of their best (and also Factory Benelux's biggest-selling record ever, FWIW)!

Jono, you may be interested in this ongoing project of mine, The Factory records Project - it's my aim to scan, photograph and share every single Factory and Factory-related artifact I have.

It's nowhere near finished, but you can see how far I've got here

PS Jono - There's quite a nice pic of Tony, bless his brilliant, beautiful, maddening heart, here
