What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Uchida performed with the Chicago Symphony two months ago but I skipped it since I was in no Mozart mood. Now, if she would have played Schubert instead, that might have been a completely different story.

Listening to this magical disc gives you a sense of archeology. Every spin unearths a new layer, making the music deeper and more coherent.

Very highly recommended.

On Japanese vinyl. Not one of their best but better than I remember it being, if you know what I mean...

I an Anderson 'TAAB2' - not bad at all, quite surprised.

Jethro Tull 'Nightcap', emjoying the first dis of this too. I must revisit 'Passion Play' if these tracks went on to become that, plus the lovely 'Solitaire'.

Jethro Tull 'A Passion Play' - still find this hard work, although enjoyed it more this listen. I like the 'Nightcap' versions more though.

Some great tunes on this. When I still considered them to be Genesis and not Phil Collins backing band
