What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Stu,

That would be worth a fortune now. Silly boy.

I noticed you mentioned going to see Harry Potter World. I only live 5 mins away. If you fancy popping around you're welcome.

This album is just so good from one of the greatest bands ever to emerge from the USA. The lyrics are exceptional and create fresh images with every song you hear. Birdhouse in Your Soul is the most well known song on the record and is a song sung from the point of view of night light, that is your only friend while you sleep and the birdhouse keeps safe all the good things in your life.

I still don't know why Triangle Man is such a nasty piece of work and has it in for Particle Man though I can understand his dislike of Person Man, but I want a watch like Universe Man with a millennium hand and an eon hand.

And why does someone keep moving my chair

Dead is a typical song about a man who gets poisoned from eating vegetables that have gone beyond their best before date and is reincarnated as a bag of fresh vegetables.

A woman came up to me and said "I'd like to poison your mind
With wrong ideas that appeal to you, though I am not unkind"
She looked at me, I looked at something written across her scalp
And these are the words that it faintly said
As I tried to call for help:

There's only one thing that I know how to do well
And I've often been told that you only can do
What you know how to do well
And that's be you, be what you're like, be like yourself,
And so I'm having a wonderful time
But I'd rather be whistling in the dark

A man came up to me and said "I'd like to change your mind

By hitting it with a rock," he said, "Though I am not unkind."
We laughed at his little joke and then I happily walked away
And hit my head on the wall of the jail
Where the two of us live today.

And I have to admit I've never seen what I look like in the mirror with my eyes closed.

Steve,

I used to have lots of wonderful vinyl that you cant buy now.

They don't  turn up on ebay.

You have to go to Christie's for them.

I will take you up on that kind offer if its ok and you are not working ?when we come up for the studio tour.

Noah can do the tour with his big sister  and i will come round to you for the day?

Going to the one in the usa first though.

Will mail you.

Stu.

I'll look forward to it. It'll save you a few bob as well. Have you seen the entry prices for Harry Potter?

Interestingly there is a building that used to be an American School/University at the end of our road that they used to film parts of Harry Potter. It's also the place where the kids who formed the group America got together. Not a lot of people know that 'Horse With No Name' was recorded in nearby Wealdestone. A great piece of West Coast Americana recorded in the suburbs of NW London.
