What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

I have been listening to a few more from Naive's Vivaldi Edition and so far I think they are very good performances and some outstanding quality recordings

CD - capitol records / EMI ~ 1993 : )

Musically this is even better than the 'She Hangs Brightly' album imo.

This cd reproduction is by far more fun to hear on this album cd version, than on my vinyl SHB copy.

Farnace:

It's a 2001 live recording from Salzburg.

I am not sure Naivé printed it again or made a new one.

Here is an aria ith Sara Mingardo - outstanding voice.

Hi Dave, if you enjoy Nighttime Birds you may consider the 2CD version from the Gatherings Webshop. The 2nd CD is a different studio recording which the label did not release because it was not a producer they wanted. Depending on my mood, the 2nd disk sounds better because of the sparser recording.

If your familiar with The Gathering, that's fine, but if you want some pointers for more stuff let me know.

Aleg,

Thanks,

Just had a scroll down the page.

A lot of men using lovely looking women on there album covers to sell there work.

It must sell albums or they wouldn't do it.

It does beg the question why though? imo.

Also a lot of lovely looking women on there own album covers and that does make sense imo.

Lots of those albums can be bought loads cheaper off other sites.

A friend of my son gave me a copy of this brilliant album yesterday.

Kraftwerk -Radio Bremen 25/6/71.

You have the drummer and guitarist from NEU! playing as part of the band.

Its Hendrix/Moon meets Flute and electronics wonderful music.
