What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Doing my homework.  Not sure if I have a favourite of anything as my favourite is always the last thing I listened to or the next thing in line but I'm having fun listening with purpose anyway.

From Günter Wand's unfinished Bruckner symphony cycle with the Berlin Philharmonic, the 7th. Bruckner's most elusive symphony, very hard to get right. Wand takes an impressively objective view of this work - as a result, some of the work's colour shifts may go by with less attention than with, say, Karajan, but the structural cohesion and melodic richness come out better than with anybody else.
