What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

Posted by: Richard Dane on 29 December 2011

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Just the one track would of been better than having the over weight druggie George Wham up there trying to sing two songs imo.

Maybe they will have driving a Range Rover into your local shop after doing loads of coke as a advent  in the next games?

listening to disc 2 of 10 x CD box-set...

Anton Bruckner (1824-1896)

Symphony no.4 in E-flat major "Romantic" (version 1878/80 rev 1886)

Kölner Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester ~ Otto klemperer

1954 NWDR Köln (Live)

~~<<>>~~

Starts of with some very nice melodies coming out of the wind section, fabulous sense of timing though-out which seems to seamlessly change every few bars, and nicely flavoured with romantic rhythm.

Difficult to believe this was recorded so long ago, and no disturbing noises from the audience either.

Highly enjoyable! : )

At first: really shocking.

Quite unusual; very good.
