What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

This is one of my favourite Emperor. Beautiful orchestration that breaths the life into the music.

I believe this was his last Emperor recording at Abbey Road London. This is a US budget reissue but sound quality is excellent.

This sounds very nice but not as bashfully Beethoven as the Klemperer/Barenboim : )

Prefer the way the piano has been recorded on this version, shame this LP has too many loud pops; unless that's a few cannonballs flying around.

[written by LvB in1809, the year Vienna was under siege by Napoleon's armies]

Owned it for 5 years, only listened to it a couple of times in an effort to keep it mint. Digitising it so I'll be able to hear it more often.

Didn't think their last album was that good. the rehashing of old song didn't really work, but thought Kicking it at the barn was their best for decades.

Bronze 1973. Offshoot of Colosseum with John Hiseman, Paul Williams, Mark Clarke and Alan Holdsworth. On original 1st issue vinyl. If you like Colosseum try this. Recommended.
