Debs,
Too much Pepsi is not good for you.

It's brightly lit and massed strings are thinner than I would like but generally ok historical broadcast quality sound.
Interesting comparison of studio vs. live of her Mozart No.20 which are recorded one day apart in the same venue. I prefer the live version.
On balance she comes off too demure and the orchestra is sounding too brash against her delicate performance.

Cracking record. And now less than $7 at Amazon Canada. I paid top dollar for this all those years ago.

I've seen this 'Porcupine Tree' album on here several times but have only now bought a [CD] copy after listening to samples. What a superb album it is, and typical of Mr Wilson, a cracking recording.

George,
I hope you bought the double with the Insignificance CD?
The double vinyl album is also brilliant.

The two Op.27 sonatas from Arrau's complete set, recorded by Philips in the 1960s. Recording quality seems very good (for the time), but Arrau's huge sound was beyond the engineers' and recording equipment's capabilities - there is frequent congestion. But this is by far better than the alternative of a downsized recording (a la Kempff's two cycles).
