What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Lloydy,

Have you listened to anything by IRoy?

I used to have all the Frontline vinyl.

I bought the cd box set as soon as it came out in the 80's.

zavvi.com at the mo are selling the cd box set well cheap.

Its been hard to find for years but they have some and its cheap.

Excellent tunage, kk. Just looked in here and that was the first post I saw. Do you know the album it's from?

hi Chief,

the pic is from a 12" vinyl i had in the early 90's, an import. Borrowed it to a friend and never got it back!!

I only have a best of CD now but thought it my grab your attention.  It had about 6 thumping remixes and i could never make up my mind which was my fav!  If you can track it down you will not be disapointed

Apart from the standard version, I only half-remember one with the beat from 'Fools Gold' on it. Funnily enough though, I had a US import of one of their albums (808 United State) but now I only have it on tape somewhere. Like your Cubik, maybe it's available on Discogs. If you can't find those, you could always make room in your Amazon trolley for Newbuild and ex:el - 808 nostalgia at its finest.

As for 'borrowed' records, I'm sure we all know that story only too well!

Lando Kal, managing to look cool even in yellow trousers. His forthcoming Rhythm Sektion is a monster.

Asobi Seksu - Fluorescence

Fun and groovy indie on my new favorite small label, Polyvinyl records. On clear, pink vinyl.
