What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Hi Dave,

What do you think of "How To Measure A Planet", or is it to soon to say?

I'm frustrated at not being able to play Disclosure on Vinyl or the Bonus LP at the moment. Having to wait for my Arkiv to be re-tipped at the end of Oct

Denis

Hi Denis,

It's a bit early yet, only played it once, but it sounds pretty good.

I am enjoying Disclosure, especially Heroes For Ghosts and Gemini I. It should sound great on vinyl.

Vinyl. Vertigo 1972.

I bought this album about 5 years ago in a market in Torquay for very little knowing it was worth quite a bit. The vinyl and cover are mint. I never played it until today, mainly because I thought it would be rubbish. After all Vangelis and Demis Roussous are not my favourite artists. However this album is a psychedelic rock revelation. It's very good indeed. A very pleasant surprise.

I love this album. It must be 12 months since Stu first posted telling us what a fantastic album it was. He was not wrong it still sounds fantastic and it has become one of my all time favourites.
