What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

Posted by: Richard Dane on 29 December 2011

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Gold CD - I love the segue of Cryin' To Be Heard into No Time To Live. Calm & beauty after the storm. Steve Winwood at the height of his singing powers for me on this record.

Anyone else have this?  I bought it, but not sure how much I like it.  (I don't dislike it, but to me it really comes off as a pure vanity project in some ways.)

Anyway, just soliciting some opinions...

Haven't picked up the new one yet (self imposed purchasing freeze).  Like this one more with each listen.

I'm just not sure how a show as consistently bad as "Family Guy" results in this guy becoming a squillionaire.

Yeah - I have seen it like twice, and even then not all the way through an entire episode; more intellectual pablum for the masses yearning to be controlled by the one-eyed box is what I took from it.  I don't do TV at all except to watch some sports (and that less than I used to except for hockey.)

I heard his version of "Two Sleepy People" with Norah Jones from this album and thought to give it a try.
