What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

Posted by: Richard Dane on 29 December 2011

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Anyway, links:

I think the mix of posters to this thread has been changing and there is therefore a lot more classical. I personally don't bother posting here too often now so you get a lot less of my music. However, I am listening to rather a lot of classical at the moment and reading posts from EJS, Florestan etc with interest.

Adrian,

I miss your input on here.

Your post on the Trio's thread will keep me going though

This room goes hours without a post now.

Before Hooples that was un-heard of.

Its a shame because the music room was all ways the best thing about this forum.

Stu.

+1.

I used to love "tuning" into this thread to see what everyone is listening to, having a "quick" listen on Spotify and then aadding to my wish list which pretty much converted into my basket pretty quickly.

Adrian...please don't be a stranger to posting.

Much missed.

Florestan

Since you appear also like chamber music, I can suggest Emmanuelle Bertrand a french cellist.

I have now 3 CD's by her and the two I like most are:

- Le Violoncelle Parle

- Ernest Bloch: Suites pour violoncelle

Both with the beautifull Harmonia Mundi recording quality

and..?  What do you think, Adrian? I loved the Grieg and I am in the midst of digging a bomb shelter, the safest place to listen to the Liszt concertos.

Sorry, I missed the 'lovely' above.
