What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Hi ewemon.

To be honest the vinyl is not that brilliant! Think that's why a had forgot about it. On the other had "Nothin But Love" is excellent in all departments IMO. What are you listening too at the moment?

Regards Graham.

Something very odd is happening on this thread today.

I actually have the Heather Nova, White Stripes, Donald Fagen, Mojo cover CD, Robert Cray, Teenage Fanclub, Art Blakey, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Neil Young, Stornoway, Tous Les Matins... soundtrack, Five Blind Boys of Alabama, Squeeze, First Aid Kit and The Doors albums (on CD) above.

This is an unprecedented ratio for me. Something must be wrong and I demand we be told.

There's never a bad time for Teenage Fanclub, except maybe for during a visit from the Environmental Health Officer.

Songs From Nothern Britain just happens to be my favourite. I even don't mind the one with Jad Fair!

This is still my fav Robbie Robertson album.

The words and music just paint pictures and a story  in your head.

Oh help me Mrs Medlicott
I don’t know what to do
I’ve only got three bullets
And there’s four of Motley Crue

I’m driving backwards at peak hour
Along the Edgware Road

Well they say she’s too hot
Yeah but guess what
I’ve got Joy Division oven gloves
If it’s her desire
I’ll put my fingers in the fire
‘Cos I’ve got Joy Division oven gloves

I keep wicket for the Quakers
In me Joy Division oven gloves
