What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

He never got to hear it.

Its a stonking album and the vinyl LP can still be had from hmv online for £7.99 inc free post.

Why not hop over to factmag . com and look at the track list. Even HFHB listeners might like it...

What does HFHB stand for?

It's strange to think now that before I started working with Naim I'd never heard any Porcupine Tree.  I can still recall the first time I heard them, thanks to Paul Stephenson - it totally blew me away.  Since then I've bought the CDs, bought the remasters, some of the vinyl, but there was always one that I didn't have - Recordings.  This was mainly because it was out of print for some time and secondhand copies were selling for crazy prices - up to £200!  So it was very exciting to hear of a deluxe re-release back in 2010.  Since then Recordings has become probably my favourite of all the PT albums, confirmed by listening to it again just half an hour ago.  So if you've never bought any PT before, make a point to get this one.  Highly recommended.

Steve, hopefully yours is in better nick than mine!  I've almost played mine to death over the years.  I have a couple of later issues but they're just not the same as the original.

Listened to it over the  weekend as a treat  and now it's  back in the "cupboard" for another few weeks, maybe months. Great album!

I love this album/band.

Good old ROTF.

If it was not for him years ago?

This band would of just been I get down and I get up again.

So much more to their music than that hit single.
