What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Never been much of a Genesis fan but this is one of my favourite albums of all time:

I don't think they ever bettered it , either before and certainly after. I just wish they had put Twilight Alehouse on it.

Oh, it's on a "Fame" vinyl reissue.

An artist I have been following for some time (this is her 8th album). Some great trax but a couple of clunkers as well. I keep waiting and hoping that one day she will make that really good disc she is more than capable of though this one shows she is getting there.

This bootleg quality live reocording is supposedly the only recorded Haskil/Klemperer performance.

The sound quality is poor but I like this set more so than with Fricsay or even Markevich version purely on the basis for her more daring spontaneous moves. Vivid and lively. Haskil seems to be in on the same musical wavelength as Klemperer.

The follow up to her Little Red Boots disc that IMHO is even better.

Not my favorite JJ, but it does have interesting arrangements with different instrumentation than his usual ensembles:
